What Are You Thankful For?

I love this time of year. The temperature is cooling off to the point that I actually don't mind singing at outdoor events. The leaves here in Tennessee are a bright and vivid gold, red and orange, making those trips to and from Atlanta a little easier to drive. It's during those drives that I really have time to think about things that I'm not able to slow down through the week and think about. If I have a song that I'm writing, it will usually get finished between Nashville and Atlanta. One of the biggest things on my mind as I'm heading east out of TN is my family. I think about how fortunate I am to have a wife that loves what I do and still loves me, even though it means we sacrifice the majority of our weekends together. I think about my kids. My son Austin who will be starting high school next year, which really makes me feel old. My six year old daughter Grace who is and always will be my pride and joy. She is her daddy's girl. And then there's my littlest little girl, Katherine who is 16 months old, who will literally climb into my suitcase when she sees me packing to go sing. I'm reminded of conversations I had with my dad in the days and weeks before he passed away. He told me that in the end, the only things that matter is your relationship with the Lord and your family and close friendships you make in life. I'm thankful for my mom and dad and the Christian home they raised me up in and I'm thankful for my wife and kids. I have so much to be thankful for, but this is what I thank God for every day of my life. What are you thankful for? Please take a moment tell us with your comments below, it will do you good!
