Singer/pianist Gordon Mote will be renewing old acquaintances when he guests on the nationally-syndicated Rick and Bubba morning show Wednesday, September 3rd. Gordon will appear during drive time, from 8:06 to 9:00 am ET/7:06-8:00 am CT, on the enormously popular show, which is syndicated from WZZK, Birmingham, Alabama to more than 60 radio stations nationwide.
Gordon, a native of Alabama, knew both broadcasters in Jacksonville, AL, and even worked for Bubba (aka Bill Bussey) at a Christian radio station he owned. “We’ve stayed in touch throughout the years,” Gordon said. “They maintain a strong Christian faith and have always been interested in my career. I even helped them book Porter Wagoner on the show once.”
Since Gordon does a mean imitation of his late friend and Opry legend, he plans to entertain listeners with not only Porter, but his other voices as well. “Anything to get a laugh,” Gordon pointed out. “Since their audience is primarily secular, the more joy I can show, the more attractive this music will seem to the listeners. This is a huge honor for me.” The twosome will also play Gordon’s chart single, “Wake Up Dancin’,” which has been released to country as well as Christian radio. The single is from his latest Spring Hill/RSI Music Group CD, Don’t Let Me Miss The Glory.
“I’m grateful to the great team of people I have supporting my career for making this happen,” Gordon concluded. The duo’s website http://www.rickandbubba.com has a listing of stations nationwide that syndicate the show, and the show is streamed live on their site from 6 to 10 am weekdays. The 7-8 hour, during which Gordon will appear, is the only hour carried by all stations.
Gordon resumes touring with the Gaither Homecoming Tour, of which he is a popular solo artist and pianist, next month.
