Misty Freeman -  What If I’m Right

Producer- Misty Freeman
Label- Golden Vine Productions

Misty Freeman has stepped out into her solo ministry with a brand new project. This new release shows off her crossover potential. If you like today’s New Country, you should enjoy What If I’m Right.

“Under the Circumstance” is a very strong song with a great hook. Written by John Darin Rowsey and Sheri Lafonataine, this song tells us that we are overcomers through Christ. “Cinderella” is the first of Misty’s compositions on the project, co-written with Kim McLean. This is a story song about a little girl’s dreams. I could here this song played on Country radio.

“Beautiful Mistakes” is another song written by Misty along with Zane King and Sonia Lee. This is a pretty ballad, letting us know that our mistakes in life can be turned into life lessons and blessings. Misty again teams with Kim McLean on the title song, “What If I’m Right”. This mid tempo song is very current stylistically, drawing from modern Country Music.

“Rise to the Occasion” has a driving beat. Misty is joined by Jason Crabb on this song. This song will do well for her on the Christian Country charts. “You Are Holy” is a pretty Praise and Worship song done in a more CCM style. Ronnie Hinson has contributed a song to this project, “Will You Take Me Back?” This is a beautiful ballad. Misty reminds me a little bit of LeAnn Womack on this song.

Marty Raybon and Michael Curtis have written a great song that should do well for Misty, “Came Through the Blood”. This song has a kickin’ track and is the kind of song that should be a crowd pleaser. “I’m Gonna Take That Mountain”, written by Jerry Salley and Melissa Pierce, keeps the tempo up and has a mountain flavor to it.

Misty closes the project out with another song that she has co-written with Kim McLean, “All He Wanted Was Me”. This ballad is done with just an acoustic guitar and is taken from a live concert. The song has a moving message and is a great way to conclude the project.

Misty Freeman has a bright future in this genre of Gospel Music. She has a very commercial voice that should appeal to Country Music fans as well as followers of Christian music. This project is well worth checking out.
