9 Year Old Makes It To The Triad Idol Finale

Jacob Vaughan of Reidsville, NC began a journey on April 25 as he entered round 1 of the Triad Idol sponsored by the Community Theatre of Greensboro in North Carolina. He made it through round 1 and onto the quarter finals where he found out that he had made it one more round to the semi finals which was held on May 16, 2009. Jacob is singing a song, "I Choose To Live" written by Jason Clark of the Nelons which will be on their latest recording.

Jacob's dad, James Vaughan who spent some time working with Paul and Shelia Heil at The Gospel Greats and Springside Marketing and most recently Resting Place Music says, "Jacob is a gift from God and it is truly amazing as a parent to see God use him in a secular venue to reach people with the Gospel."

James also says, "Jason Clark sent me the song and immediately we knew that this was the song for him to sing." Jacob says, "To be honest, if it's not about Jesus, I really don't care about singing."

Jacob is in the top 14 competitors in the state of NC where contestants hometowns range from Cornelius, NC to Athens, GA. He competes in the final leg of the event on May 31, 2009
