Well, sogospelnews probably gave me the coolest job to do and get to write about! I will be writing a monthly article called "On the road again" and I will be traveling with your favorite Southern gospel artists and writing about what goes on before and after the concerts and what happens while they are traveling! Here is where I need your help- I need to know what groups or artists you would like to see featured. Here is a link to the article

I think I read somewhere that Poet Voices were regrouping but I cannot find the article or topic. Does anyone have information?

I certainly hope it's true. Phil Cross and Poet Voices as they were originally had a really unique sound that I enjoyed, and of course, his songs are always well above average.

    Info?

I thought it would be enlightening to see how many of the folk in SGM are related, blood or marriage.
I didn't know for the longest time that one of Jake Hess sons was married to the Martin girl.
And didn't know Bill Traylor was married to one of Glen Payne's daughters.

Susan, we can do this with out it getting ugly, right folks!

My wife's aunt lives in Florida and saw GVB at a Gaither event. They introduced Wesley Pritchard as Russ Taff's replacement. Now, I know she may have been a little excited and might not have heard the introduction right. Did anyone else hear about this?

    The Wilburns – “Campmeeting Fire”

If you want to get your listeners excited and full of energy, play this cut penned by Daryl Williams. Not only does this song get that campmeeting feeling going in you, but it has that good ole campmeeting sound to it also. This is a great rush hour track. Heritage Gold – Volume # 38 – cut # 2

The Perrys – “I Wish I Could Have Been There”

Better warn your listeners that they may have an uncontrollable urge to dance as this song is playing. The track is really neat with some fiddles, a harmonica and a strong drum line. You will find yourself singing along with this song. It has a great message of encouragement. Daywind Radio Disc – Volume # 52 – cut # 1

Mencer, White, and Cheney – “I Just Can’t Wait”

This is one of those, sit back, close your eyes, and just let the Lord bless you, songs. The track and vocals are just really laid back. None of that takes away from the message of anticipation of our Lord’s return. You should be getting lots of requests for this one. DJ Man Hit Singles – volume # IX – cut # 1

    Embrace – “Why Not?”

Here’s my “sleeper of the week”. I have never heard of this young group, but once I did, I thought that I needed to let you DJs know about them. This medium tempo song just sort of flows right along. The track is great, and the harmony is fantastic. Give your audience a treat and play this cut for them. Zion Music Group – Compilation # 33 – cut # 5

    Producer: Bill Gaither

Last fall, Bill Gaither  demonstrated his organizational skills by putting all the top artists from bluegrass on one stage. Now he's applying the same method to black gospel music. For We Will Stand and Build A Bridge , a few of the Homecoming regulars were joined by folks like the Mighty Clouds Of Joy , ...

This is a fine young group with a lot of promise. I believe that this is their first recording. Their harmony and blend are good, and will only improve the longer they sing together.
