Johnny Minick, River of Life and Lari Goss

Great things are happening at one of the Nashville area's most exciting churches. Taking pride in being the area's leading Southern Gospel church, Pastor Johnny Minick is excited about several new happenings at the River of Life church. Coming from a history of singing many years with the Happy Goodman Family. Pastor Minick is very familiar and comfortable with the music that he knows touches the hearts of this unique congregation. It's not uncommon to see such artists as Allison Durham Speer, Mike Allen, Ed Hill, Bill Baise, Hovie Walker, and many other recognizable names stroll into the sanctuary. Groups like the Monument Quartet, the Prophets Quartet, the Quicks, and Sunday Edition, all call River of Life home. The SGN Music Awards as well as the Gospel Music Fan Festival are held annually in this great sanctuary. River of Life is known for being THE musical church.

With all of these accomplishments you might wonder what could ever add to the glow of this church. Just when you might think that River of Life had maxed out they make another announcement. This time it's big news. Talented songwriter and singer Daryl Williams and his wife, Karen, decided that it was time for them to concentrate on their singing group, the Daryl Williams Trio, so there was a need to fill Daryl's big shoes. Not just anyone could do this. "As usual, mighty things are happening here", Pastor Minick said, "We have just met with Lari Goss and he is filling the position of Minister of Music at River of Life."

Lari Goss is one of the most respected producers in the Gospel Music industry. If anyone knows how to work with a choir, it is Lari Goss. He has put thousands of great Gospel songs into choral music that has blessed churches around the world. River of Life is blessed to have the talents of Lari Goss involved in the music ministry of the church.

River of Life is located at 596 Sam Ridley Parkway in Smyrna, Tennessee. For more information about River of Life and Lari Goss you may contact the church at 615-459-2533

Brother Minick is truly a great preacher and a fantastic musician. I would recommend that if you are visiting in the Nashville,TN area over any weekend that you make it a point to attend River of Life Assembly on Sunday morning. The music is extraordinary and the preaching is superb. You will be glad that you went to church on that day, because you will be blessed tremendously. I am a big fan!!!
God Bless you in your work Brother Johnny. Your Brother in Christ,
    Bill Baize

Daryl's shoes are big ones to fill...It will take someone like Lari Goss to that job...I recently had the priviledge to "sit-in" on one of Lari's
choir rehearsals at "The River" and it was a blast...they have some really nice singers, including Sherry Minick and Deon Unthank (just to name a couple of them)...Bill Baize is correct!
River of Life has been the place to be in the Nashville area for sometime now. Lari will only enhance that. God's best to Pastor Johnny, Bro Lari, Pastor D and all the saints at ROL church!

Rivers of Life believe that as well as secular preparation for life, e.g., a university degree, Christians need to be prepared in other ways such as service, living in community and studying the Bible. For this reason Bible Houses were formed. Bible House is a bible college with the vision of preparing young people in areas mentioned above not just academically. The name "Bible House" highlights the fact that nearly all the students live in the same hall of residence. The standard course lasts for two years.
