Taking Time

Every couple of weeks or so I take my Mother shopping. Each and every time it's amazing to see the seasonal changes in the stores she likes to visit. Anyway, the first thing we see today as we walked into her favorite store was Windex, paper towel and all kinds of cleaning supplies; Ya know, the kind of stuff for "Spring Cleaning". I got to thinking, where has the time gone? It seems as though we just walked in here and saw Christmas decorations. Now, it's spring. Soon it will be summer.

I wonder, have you ever put something off until tomorrow only to find that it is now another month? I certainly have. It's as though the older I get the less time I have. By the end of each day I set and think of all that I didn't get done. Am I the only one who does this?

What's that old saying? "Never put off until tomorrow what you can do today"? I have heard this all my life. Only now do I comprehend the real meaning of this cliche'. I have to remind myself that unimportant things can wait. It's calling Mother to say I love you that shouldn't wait. Being a witness to a friend. Or what about taking time to read the Bible and pray? These are some of the things I shouldn't put off until tomorrow.

Today I stopped to see my brother whom I haven't seen since before Christmas. I have passed his house several times going back and forth to Mothers, but by the time I take her to town and run her around all day then haul her groceries in, all I want to do is get back home. Well, today my heart said stop. So I did. We had the nicest visit. You see my brother is very much a loner. He hunts a lot and doesn't ever depend on anyone for anything. As we began talking I saw a side of him I hadn't seen since we were kids. It was wonderful to see him smile!

During my visit I felt as though he was hurting. I sensed a great deal of pain in his life. I never said anything to him but God said a lot to me. I want to win my brother to Christ. I want to see him saved and living for God. My desire is for us to be in Heaven together. So, from now on when I pass his house, I will take time to stop and just say hi. I will make it a point to tell him that I love him. I don't want to put off until tomorrow anymore.

So in closing, might I put you all to a challenge? Try doing something today that you have been putting off until tomorrow. Let us all do something today that really matters; For none of us have the promise for tomorrow.

Till next time ~ Chin up... Journey On!

I have 2 brothers and I too long for the day that they raise their hands in praise to their LORD. I read in the bible where the members of a family are the enemies BUT then I also read in the same bible where HE said HE would once again turn the hearts of the fathers to the sons....HE IS RESTORING "ALL" THINGS IN THESE LAST DAYS!!!! Our families will be saved!!!!!!!
