The Sargents - It Will Be Heaven

Label – Journey Records
Producer – Zane King
Mixed by Steve Allen
Websitehttp://thesargentsonline.com

The Sargents are a father-son duo based out of Middle Tennessee recording with the popular Journey Records. It Will Be Heaven is the group’s latest recording, which was produced by industry leader Zane King and mixed by engineer extraordinaire Steve Allen.

The album kicks off with the country-tinged “Country Rail” which sets the mood for the rest of the CD. The Sargents know they are country – and that’s what they do best. “When You See a Cross” (penned by Zane King and Charles Isbell) features a country melody and southern-based vocals from son Jeremy. Ernie Dawson’s “He’s Alive” features a strong track coupled with Jeremy’s country vocals.

The popular “There’s An Easter Lily” has been recorded by many artists under the Journey label, but The Sargents put their own spin on it to make it their own, and in doing so, help set it apart from the others who have recorded it. The duo’s cover of “I’ll Fly Away” features another strong bluesy-country based track coupled with The Sargents’ vocals. The cut is one of the highlights on the disc featuring the group in a fun country based sound.

“The Old Ship” and “It Will Be Heaven For Me” continue in the same old-time country feel as the rest of the disc – showing that The Sargents are definitely comfortable in their own skin as musicians. “Old Rock ‘n Rollers” changes things up a bit with its unique electric guitar lead on the track. The Greg Day penned “Make Up Your Mind” closes out the disc in typical Sargents’ fashion.

Overall – fans of extremely country-based artists like Zane King, The Morris’s, Jeff & Sheri Easter, and The Glovers will probably eat up It Will Be Heaven. The Sargents know who they are as artists and don’t step away from that too often, however fans of this particular style and the group will more than likely fall in love with this new disc from the duo.
