The Anchormen - Dec 06

Well let me start off by saying what a thrill it is to be able to share with all of you our lives and stories from the road. The last few months have been difficult, and challenging, but yet a blessing. This year we celebrate our 27 year Anniversary, and we all feel that the best is yet to come. With our new C.D., Glory Ahead, produced and directed by Wesley Pritchard, we feel and have heard this is the strongest recording to date. Our first release, I’ll Meet You On The Mountain, has us thrilled to see what God allows this song to do for us.

The first bit of news is Chad Smith our Baritone singer and his wife celebrated the birth of their first child. Her name is Hallie Faithe Smith, she was born on July 25th, she was 20 &3/8 in. and weighed 6lbs. 14oz. Chad carries pictures with him everywhere he goes, and is very proud of their new addition.

We recently enjoyed a cruise to Grand Cayman Island, and Cozumel Mexico where we had a terrific time with our friends Mercy’s Well. We sang, and eat and then we eat some more, and the we eat again! While on this cruise our Bass Singer Will Lane got engaged to his girlfriend of 2 years, Mindy Glover of Pikeville North Carolina. The two plan on a wedding the December month of 2007. We are all proud of the two and wish them well!

I have told you about our Baritone, and Bass singer and Alex Woolard is filling the Tenor position. I, Jason Funderburk still singing lead and EmCee for the group feel that this is still a Blessing to be doing what we do. Each and every night we see people come to know Christ through salvation and we are so unworthy of that. Through our daily devotions on the bus we have a bond now that feels better than ever. So with this first article I want to say thank you to all of you who have supported us in our endeavors and ask that you continue to pray for our Ministry. Until next month God Bless you and , “I’ll Meet You On The Mountain!”

In Christ,
Jason Funderburk

The Anchormen are some of the finest young men I have ever had the privilege of meeting. I lost my husband to cancer a couple of years ago and with him I also lost my joy. I believe the Lord sent me to my first Anchormen concert to begin the healing process and for that I am truly grateful. These guys have such sweet spirits and hearts and the love of God and truly minister to their audiences. My 18-year old daughter had them to come and sing at a special event this summer and at that time it was confirmed to me that this was a great group with a wonderful management team. My prayer since I met them has been that God would protect them and bless them. I believe with the success of their lastest release that the blessings are beginning to flow. You guys are the best and I hope more and more people will get to know you and support your ministry. Keep singing and serving until He comes.

I love these guys! They are incredible! I have had the opportunity to be in many of their concerts and their #1 priority is to see souls saved for the Lord. I am so proud of each of them. Can't wait to see what is in store for their future as they do the Lord's work!
