Gospel singers come in various forms, shapes and sizes. They come with all sorts of talents and handicaps. Shawn Huhn is one such Gospel singer. For many years Shawn suffered from the dreaded Tourette disease.
Tou·rette's syndrome (t-rts) or Tou·rette syndrome (-rt)
A severe neurological disorder characterized by multiple facial and other body tics, usually beginning in childhood or adolescence and often accompanied by grunts and compulsive utterances, as of interjections and obscenities. Also called Gilles de la Tourette syndrome.
As you can see by the definition, this is a debilitating disease. Shawn was kicked out of school because the teachers didn’t realize what the disease was. For years he was tormented, even hurting himself physically. Curiously, Shawn found that doing something that he loved to do eased the ferocity of the disease. When he started singing his tics slowed way down, giving him a lot of relief. The problem was that he couldn’t continually sing. He wasn’t just singing though, he was singing Gospel Music. He sang songs such as “Amazing Grace”. Shawn lives with his parents along with his young daughter. He loves his daughter, but was afraid that in his flailing around, he might unintentionally hurt her.
One day while watching television, he saw a story about a man who had an implant put into his brain to relieve has Tourette symptoms. Shawn believes that this was a gift from God. Shawn immediately went to his Doctor and though he didn’t have the finances to have the surgery performed, through his Faith in God not only did he receive the miracle of what the implant would do, but he received a miracle for the finances to get the operation performed.
Now, Shawn is able to finally hold his daughter. The surgery was so successful that Shawn says he is 90% better. Shawn was on the news on several different stations, which had to be a blessing, opening some doors for him to minister in varied places. Shawn now is able to travel and sing and shared his testimony. He has a beautiful Tenor voice, and now he is using it for the Lord every chance he gets.

Shawn will be singing at Dollywood's Smoky Mountain Christmas program on November 30. He will be performing at 4:00PM and 5:30PM. This will be a good opportunity for many to see him.

Shawn did perform at the Dollywood Smoky Mountain Christmas program Thursday. He had a good crowd (the Chapel was nearly full) for both performances. And he was invited to sing at the Smith Family Theatre the following Friday night. He probably could have done more, but had to go home to Mississippi to fulfill a singing obligation there!
This young man has a God given talent if you have a chance to hear him you will not be disappointed.
Just as Shawn has been Blessed by God with such a talent, anyone who hears him sing will receive a blessing of their own.
You have blessed a lot of people with your wonderful singing and testimony. My prayer is that you will be having more and more concerts so that many more people will recieve the message God is asking you to share. May God bless you even more.
