Sunday Edition Partners with Compassion International

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Sunday Edition, one of Nashville’s favorite groups, recently partnered with Compassion International – a ministry designed to benefit children in poverty stricken nations.

Compassion International is an evangelical Christian child development ministry dedicated to helping children in need around the world. Compassion's programs help release children from poverty in Jesus' name and enable them to become responsible, fulfilled adults.

Compassion equips children for the future by providing for their core needs - spiritual, physical, economic and social. By working with the local church, Compassion's program offers educational opportunities, health care and health-related instruction, supplemental nutrition, if needed, life-skills training and opportunities to hear about and respond to the gospel.

“We are so excited to be a part of a ministry like this,” mentioned Deon Unthank of Sunday Edition. “We have always felt that our ministry has been for the uplifting and encouragement of the believer – but we always had a heart for reaching the world as well. This is just one way that we can actively be a part of world missions.”

“We’ve been working with Compassion for a couple of months now and can already see the effects that it is having on not only other people – but our ministry as well,” mentioned Chris Unthank of Sunday Edition. “Our lives have already been touched by the children that we sponsor individually. We are excited to share the message of what Compassion does to everyone we come into contact with.”

Sunday Edition will be traveling to Nicaragua in April of next year with Compassion International to see the effects of the ministry first hand.

About Sunday Edition
Sunday Edition was formed back in the early 70’s as an all-male quartet. Now, 30 years later, the group has reformed as the family trio consisting of Deon Unthank, Amy Marie Unthank, and Chris Unthank. The group has a rich sound with a wide variety of influences which range from traditional southern to country and progressive southern to black gospel.
