Old Faith

I drove today from South MS to Nashville, which is a seven hour drive. This hook for a song came to me and I'm glad I still remember it, since I couldn't write it down! "Old Faith". I've always admired and enjoyed meeting people with new, fresh, firery, faith. You know, the "out to save the whole world TODAY" kind of faith. But I've come to have a different respect for those with "Old Faith". The quiet, been there- done that, kind. The kind that has conquored the mountain, been beaten and broken, but never defeated. In the eyes of these folks is a peace that cannot be described. The "old faith" has withstood the tests and trials of hard life and now looks at problems as though they are just stepping stones to great things! I've recently met several people with the old faith, and pray that I will hold on to mine until it becomes seasoned, weathered, and proven. "Those who ENDURE til the end shall be saved." I want to look the devil in the eye with a resolve to stand and be faithful through it all. I hope this turns into a song!

God Bless,
Annie McRae
