The Perrys - October 2002

From Microphones to Stick Horses!!!!

Yes you heard right! On September 24 at the Dixie Stampede in Pigeon Forge, TN, 1000+ fans were able to witness Mark Bishop, Kirk Talley, Tim Lovelace, Tracy and Libbi Stuffle, Gerald Wolfe, Jason Waldroup and yours truly, trade in the microphones for a ride on a stick horse. It was the funniest thing I have ever been a part of in my life!!! Mark, Kirk, Tim and me raced against the others and I hate to admit it, WE WON! I have the medal to prove it! So the next time you see any of these riders out of the west , ask them about the stick horse race.

We were at the Dixie Stampede that night as a part of the SGMA Benefit concert. Fans got to hear music from the Kingdom Heirs, Greater Vision, and the Perrys as well as have some laughs and eat some great food! (No silverware allowed! REALLY!) Thanks to the SGMA and The Dixie Stampede for a great night. Plans are in progress for another event next year! Make plans to be there!

Also, thanks to Branson, Silver Dollar City, and Gary McSpadden for hosting the Perrys along with some of our best friends for a great night of gospel music last month! We had such a good time! Me and Jonathan Sawrie, of The Melody Boys Quartet, road the "Wildfire" roller coaster at least 12 times in a row! It was a hoot!

Before I go, I want to make mention of a very special website, http://www.erinhope.com . This website is about a very special little girl fighting cancer! Her dad is a very good friend of mine, as a matter of fact, I was best man in his wedding! This is a great website with a lot of great information about this family and their courageous fight for life! You would not believe the great things that have happened as a result of Erin Hope's cancer! So, please take a moment as check out this website, you will be blessed!

See you next month!
