4Given Quartet - Only You

Producer: Rick Sandidge
Label: Mark Five
Website: http://4givenquartet.com

4Given Quartet is a Southern Gospel group based out of Amarillo, Texas. The group got their start singing in their local church in 1998 before hitting the road and singing at other venues as well. The group has already made appearances on the Gaither Homecoming stage in 2008 and opened for The Martins the same year.

4Given Quartet's latest record - Only You was produced by Rick Sandidge for Mark Five. The album features an eclectic mix of Southern Gospel music - showcasing everything from progressive and middle of the road sounds to a more traditional quartet setting.

Only You kicks off with the strong "Tell Me the Story of Jesus" - an excellent song with a strong vocal arrangement. "Only You" has a more progressive sound that groups like Three Bridges or the Talley Trio have perfected - and 4Given Quartet does a nice job on the cut. "Rise Above It All" is a nice ballad for the guys, but they really shine on the power anthem "I Surrender to the King."

Elsewhere, the album features a mix of traditional music. The album does suffer from a poor mix at times with the music overpowering the vocals. Also, there are a few harmony issues on "Come See a Man" that should have been fixed before mixing.

Only You is an album that 4Given Quartet should be very proud of - especially in their tracks which feature names like Kelly Back, Marty Shrabel, Otis Forrest, and Tre' Corley. The album does not list songwriters.

Song List:

Tell Me the Story of Jesus
Only You
Come See a Man
Rise Above It All
Graduation Day
I Surrender to the King
Rescue Me
Walkin' Down the Straight and Narrow
Never Walk Alone
He Cares For You
