Stop Complaining and Do Something!

Stop complaining and do something!

The group I sing with, First Love, has the privilege to travel across the country to churches singing The Gospel. One thing I have noticed is some people in church complaining about Christmas. They say “Christmas isn’t what it used to be.” Or “There is no Christmas Spirit anymore.” I say, “Stop complaining and do something!”

I know of several ways we keep the “holiday spirit” alive in our home. Each year my church family delivers food boxes to needy families, adopts “angels” from The Angel Tree, and goes Christmas caroling. When I am Christmas shopping I try to smile at each shopper, encourage the retail workers, and tip the servers well in the restaurants. Our actions speak much louder than our words.

I am tired of the complaining! We all have opportunities to show the love of Christ this holiday season. Start today! Make a phone call to a friend who needs to talk, drop a note in the mail to someone who needs encouraging, hold the door for someone at the Post Office, or let the car go ahead of you in the line of traffic. These things may seem little, but I quote the famous song… “Little is much – When God is in it!”

Let God be in your holiday plans and I promise you will experience that “Old Christmas Spirit!”

Merry Christmas from all of First Love!
