Terry Terrell – My Journey

Produced by Zane King
Label:  Journey Records
Websitehttp://terryterrellsings.com

Though you may have never heard of Terry Terrell, he’s been around for a few years now and has a substantial fan base – particularly fans of mainstream country.  He’s remained one of the most requested artists on the Solid Gospel network with his emotional driven vocals and strong song choices.

My Journey is Terrell’s latest album on Journey Records following the well accepted Back On My Feet.  The album sticks to Terry’s roots – traditional country with a hint of Southern Gospel thrown around here and there.  “Let Me Come to You” opens the disc in fine form, showing off Terrell’s impressive vocals in his most comfortable way – balladry.  “When God Unfolds a Rose” is a song dedicated to his brother speaking of God’s perfecting time in a person’s life.  “I Miss You” written by Zane King and Kimberly Allen (of the Allens) is a lyrical gem speaking to the prodigal child and God’s unending arm of love.

Zane King is the primary writer for the album, with credits given on seven of the 10 tracks.  His country influence is undeniable, and Terry Terrell knows how to interpret the songs perfectly.  “Just As If You Where Here” finds Terrell at his best vocally featured on a beautiful backdrop of strings and piano.  My Journey finally kicks into gear on track six with the upbeat “He Still Parts the Red Sea.”  Terrell is known for his ballads, but he pulls off the uptempo numbers extremely well.  Terry’s cover of the Jessica King hit “Keep Me In Your Will” is another album highlight.

Overall, despite its extreme leanings towards slow tempo numbers, My Journey is another strong effort from the country favorite Terry Terrell.

I love Brother Terry's music. I heard him in person first at New Family Life Tabernacle in Lewisburg, TN. He is truly a great singer and is dedicated to God. Ever since then, if he is in my area where I can go see him, I go. I have all of his CD's and look forward to new CD's.

I first heard Terry at my church, in 08 and I thought he was just fantastic, his voice I could listen to all day, and my favorite songs are If there is a phone in heaven, and Help me get down on my knees so I can get back on my feet. I was saved in 2004, and my husband is still lost and I took him to hear Terry and he really liked him,and I am still hoping and praying I can get him back into church, and he gets close, and gets to know what a great Heavenly Father we have, and how blessed we are, and Terry;s songs make you feel so close,I wish him and his family all the best and to his co-writers keep up the good work, GOD Bless you all. Terri
