Family Matters - Sep 05

What an exciting summer this has been for Family Music Group and Butler Music Group! We have experienced the completion of the debut label project for The Glovers, laid tracks for the debut label project for Living Waters Trio, and completed a dynamite custom project for the Baker/Pasma Families. We have had a wonderful reception from radio with the single releases of four BMG artists: Sharron Kay King, Jamie Farmer, The Morris’ and The Glovers. We have received countless e-mails and testimonies about personal appearances by Christlike, Cheri Taylor, The Glovers, Sharron Kay King and others.

If you want to know why we are excited about all of this, join us for the FMG/BMG/Heritage Communications Showcase at the Executive Inn in Louisville, Ky., on Sept. 16 to see and hear every one of these artists in person. The showcase will start at 10 a.m. In addition to the aforementioned artists, the showcase will include Johnny Minick, Michael Combs, Tony Gore, The Dunaways, Paid In Full, Hope’s Call, Ann Downing, Ava Kasich, Freedom Voice, Mercy’s Well, Debbie Robbins, The Barrett Family, Soul’d Out, Brittni Ward, The Parker Trio, Eddie Lee and Anointed, The Bunces and The Riffle Family. This free event will be a major highlight of the National Quartet Convention week.

An end-of-the -summer bonus for radio listeners is the newest FMG Radio Compilation CD. There are eleven great songs on it, including a brand new release from FMG artists Christlike and The Dunaways. “If You Don’t Fine Him Here,” written by Mike Richards and Marty Funderburk is the newest release from Christlike’s Journey project. It’s an upbeat song of truth that will give you some valuable tools for witnessing to the lost.

From Beautiful Day by The Dunaways is “He Answered Your Prayer,” written by Pam Tucker and Tammy Dunaway. This is a beautiful, encouraging song, featuring lead vocals from Tammy. If you don’t have the full project, you can order online at southerngospelradio.com, because when you hear it on the radio, you’ll want to hit the repeat button over and over.

While you’re making up your request list for your favorite southern gospel station, be sure to include these new releases: Harvest, “God Knows;” Set Apart, “Where We’ll Never Die;” Eric Horner, “Look Up;” The Browns, “My Name Is Already There;” 2nd Generation, “Hanging on a Nail;” Baker/Pasma, “In Everything Give Thanks;” The Dennis Family, “I Know He Will;” His Cross, “I Will Not Be a Stranger;” and a great country gospel instrumental from Shelton Bissell, “Medley: Will the Circle Be Unbroken/I’ll Fly Away/I Saw the Light.”

Thank you to everyone who took the time to enter the Sharron Kay King “Best Friend Contest.” The winner of the grand prize, “A Day with My Best Friend,” was Lisa Hayes of Bowling Green, Ky. Lisa received gift certificates for dinner for two at a national restaurant chain and a shopping trip for two at a national retailer. She also received a library of CDs from Butler Music Group and Family Music Group. Two runners-up received a copy of Sharron Kay’s current BMG project, One Step at a Time — Jim Steeley of Mt. Juliet, Tenn., and Kassie Decker of Leitchfield, Ky.

Let me share one verse of Scripture with you before I close. This is what I consider to be my life verse and it’s from John 16:33(KJV): “These things I have spoken unto you that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” Hold on to that thought!

See you next month!

    Hello,

I attended a concert at Faith Baptist Church in Greenville, Mi on August 28 with Baker/Pasma family. I have heard their CD and was blessed when I heard it. Then on the 28 I went to their concert. “It Was Awesome.” Praise God for the way HE works through their families. Their music, singing, and testimony were a blessing. Praise God for families who server him faithfully. Their new CD is going to be released the 24 of September. I encourage people to buy it.

We attended the Baker/Pasma concert in Greenville on the 28th and were so thrilled with this evening of praise these families offer up to the Lord. Their music is just totally awesome! They sing and play instruments with such enthusiasm and skill and are a tremendous testimony. I can't wait to see another concert. You won't be disappointed! Praise the Lord!

I attended the Baker/Pasma concert at Faith Baptist Church in Greenville on Aug. 28th. It was Awesome, what a ministry. Hearing music so beautiful, and the praising and worshipping to God thru song and instruments, was just so touching that it brought tears to my eyes. You sure can see the Love you have for Him. I recommend others to go and hear them and experience it for themselves. God Bless!!!!

I have attended several of the Baker/Pasma concerts. Each concert has been a blessed experience. The best part is that my children love to go and hear the music (and sing along with them). They know a lot of the songs by heart. I believe that having children as a major part of the Baker/Pasma group really brings about interest in children and young adults attending the concert. What a wonderful way for my whole family to hear about the love and faithfulness of Jesus!
