The Quicks - Aug 05

Okay, Okay… I hope I’ve heard “I’m not crabbing” for the last time! No more crabbing, Donna! I also have orders from Rebecca to write something fun – she says I’ve been getting too serious lately. Write something that would seem fun to my 16-year-old… get real!

The Steve Hurst School of Music, which was held July 10-16, was the most awesome week for The Quicks! Tim took a week off from his job at Vanderbilt so the four of us could attend the school as a group. Tim and I commuted through that crazy Nashville traffic each day while Rachel and Rebecca stayed on campus at Trevecca. I don’t EVEN want to know how they spent their time! Maybe they ate three square meals a day, studied their lessons, and went to bed early…

Our family was honored to be a part of the taping for the pilot to a new Gospel Music television show called “Gospel Music at the River!” We sang our radio single, “He Can Move the Water” to a full house at River of Life Church in Smyrna, Tennessee, the location of the filming for the new program. Pastor Johnny Minick, who was with the Happy Goodmans for 30 years, is the driving force behind this new TV show. The lineup for the program included Johnny Minick, the Daryl Williams Trio, Country Music legend George Jones, Comedian Aaron Wilburn, River of Life Choir, Nashville Star winner George Canyon, John and Angie Prim, and many more! We all had so much fun – Tim introduced himself to everyone there, Rachel spent the whole time with Aaron Rich of the Daryl Williams trio, Rebecca was happy to see the event was catered, and I was glad that Garnett finished my makeup just as our family was called on stage!

Our current radio single, “He Can Move the Water,” moved up to #65 on the Singing News Chart for August – We’re so excited! “He Can Move the Water” can be found on the Rick Hendrix Radio Comp #31, Cut #3! Sally, I see great things ahead for you guys! You are doing things that will put you ahead, making investments in the ministy of "The Quicks"! Steve Hurst School, getting (and taking) the opportunities to sing at these events, and staying focused on the Lord's will for the 4 of you.

I have heard several of the old-timers state this: If you are wanting to grow your ministry, Sing every chance you get! Don't worry about how many will be there, or how much your offering is, and if you do that, God will reward your faithfulness.

Love you all and can't wait till NQC to see y'all!
