Anthony Burger Surprised

We were honored to have Anthony Burger in concert at Crestview Baptist Church in Georgetown, TX February 16. He opened with "Rhapsody In Blue/Shout To The Lord" and that is just what you felt like doing! He did several from his project "Masterpiece" in which it truly is. He just went from one right into another and when he played "Swingin' My Way Back Home" I think I felt the pew swingin' too! His hands went so fast on "Goodbye World Goodbye" you really couldn't see them! That excitement just kept building and building with his love for Jesus as he played "Old Time Religion/William Tell Overture",those songs just fit perfect together and everyone just loved them! WOW when he played his "Salute To The Troops" you never felt more proud than you did at that moment! As he was singing "The Stranger" you could really hear the Amens on it and wow he sure can sing, what a beautiful voice he has! Anthony had us sing several songs with him too, what a blessed time it was! I could hear people singing along as he played "We Shall Behold Him"- that was so moving,I love to hear him play it. When he sang "It's MY Desire" -WOW- it was more than awesome, don't think there are any words to what we all were feeling and you sure could see his love for Jesus Christ as well as feel it as it is so strong right from his heart! People here are still talking in amazement about his God given talents and what a beautiful voice he has for singing!

Just when Anthony thought he was going to take a break he had a couple of surprises! The music minister escorted Anthony back up and the look on Anthony's face was priceless as he didn't have a clue as to what was going on! He was presented with a proclamation from the City of Georgetown. The mayor had proclaimed Feb 16 Anthony Burger Day! Now as he accepted this and was looking at it, he was in for another shock! What a proud and exciting time, people were already on their feet but now they really were going! The Governor of the great state of Texas made Anthony Burger an Honorary Texan! It really caught Anthony as he kept saying "WOW" and shook his head saying "I really don't know what to say" and another "WOW" and then "thank everyone". He never did get his break, but somehow I don't think he minded, as he went back and played now. He brought that awesome night to a close with the "Hallelujah Chorus" and brought the house down with it-WOW! You felt like you were at the Throne in His Holy presence! The people were on their feet almost right at the start of it and when he finished wow the blessings just kept pouring out and overflowing! What an awesome night and no one wanted to let him go!

Everyone here is still talking about how amazed they are at his God given talents Anthony has and yet how humble this man is as he always gives all the glory back to God! And they can't get over what a beautiful voice he has for singing, and how you can feel his love for God. Anthony is so much more than a musician or singer, he is real. The love that Anthony has in his heart for Jesus Christ is very real, you can see it and you can feel it whether he is playing or singing, he just radiates with it!

Thank you Anthony Burger for all that you do and for being a servant for His Kingdom! May God bless you always!
