Gospel music????

Gospel music???? It is a true love for Gold Harbor and has forever been a staple in our lives. We grew up being involved in some aspect of gospel music. My father, a minister, Noel’s father was the owner of The Christian Troubadours (a bluegrass/country gospel group) and JR’s mother, a gospel singer as well. So what else would three “seasoned” (I prefer that word over others I could have used) individuals get involved in that they love more???? The answer to that is NOTHING.

That’s how we found each other or should I say God introduced us to each other. We call our group “A GOD THING” because we truly are. We are very different as individuals and yet together it just fits. That’s because God put this together for us. Noel and I had tried for years to get a group started and auditioned a lot of people yet never found the right person to complete our group. I believe that is the key to a successful group is that all people involved have the same goals, vision and hope for your ministry.

Gold Harbor was originally an all male group yet after almost one year – things still were not moving forward in the direction that JR Richards (the owner of the group) had envisioned. Then Noel came to audition due to some health issues of one of the group’s members and that’s when things changed for Gold Harbor. Noel has a very unique voice and sings with compassion and soul. Then God finished putting the group together when there was another vacancy and that’s when Noel called me. I initially turned down the idea of singing with a group because I had a solo ministry at the time. But like I’ve said – God was at work already. Noel called me after several months and asked if I’d be interested in reconsidering joining the group and I said YES. When we all got together and met to practice – we sang our first song and I think we were all amazed at the sound. We knew then after we all had chills and tears in our eyes that God had something special with the three of us. Just like Adam in the Garden of Eden – He knew this group NEEDED A WOMAN!!!!!

We know GOLD HARBOR has been ordained by God – we are truly singing because of HIS calling. If I had a choice of a beautiful voice or God’s anointing, there is no question as to what my choice would be. I’d choose the anointing without a second thought.

We just finished our first project together and we are excited. It is titled “It’s All Good” because all the songs are upbeat, inspiring and will lift your spirits and in today’s world that’s the message we want to send out. God is a great God and all things work together for those that love the Lord and Gold Harbor LOVES THE LORD. Our first single released to radio “A Few More Miles” has really been doing well and was voted as the #1 song by fans for two weeks in a row on The Gospel Music Times charts.
