Mickey Mixon conceived the idea of GospelSongwriter.com in the spring of 1999. The URL (web address) was registered on June 10, 1999 and before the end of the month GospelSongwriter.com was online and serving the Gospel music community. Since then GospelSongwriter.com has networked approximately 1,000 Gospel songwriters with 2,000 Gospel singers looking for songs to employ.
Mickey said, "I heard that if a new website can stay on the internet for at least 5 years then it will probably remain online and do well. It's been 10 years, now, and GospelSongwriter.com is still online and doing well. I give God the praise and thank Him for allowing me to be a part of and serving the Gospel music community, which I love."
